day 5: the weeks notes

I decided that on Friday of every week I'd just go through and write down all of the notes that I have taken over the week so here it goes:

HOTSPUR:
  • hot rambling mess
  • prideful
  • the S***
  • ladies love me
  • hot temper
  • banter with my wife
  • I'm better than pretty much everyone
  • the king wishes that I was his son
  • I'm better than hal
  • Through temper tantrum
  • hot headed rambling mess
  • a super ... bad word.
  • sarcastic
  • BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE.

Notes I took while Ian was talking:
  • Packing: what you pack into your brain in advanced about your character, Uta Hogens first 6. ((I'm assuming thats first 6 questions))
  • Golden key: knowing from moment to moment what your character wants and what their going to do to get it: we do everything for a reason
  • objective: the thing that you want
  • tactic: what your doing to get that.
  • **go through this weekend and figure out what yours are.
  • "What your doing is what your doing"
  • react: to really listen and truly respond to the situation, don't anticipate.
  • PRACTICE IN THE MOMENT.
  • always do it like you would do it in real life ((that sounds dirty, looking back on it))
  • bow: transition from acting world to reality.
  • when your on stage your attention should NOT be on yourself. at all.
  • "your in theater to change the world, and if you aint get out of my way baby"
  • lists are latter so build on them
  • bill board a name
  • stay anchored on stage ((happy feet = ugly feet))
  • start your line before you get on stage, the people coming on and off are the energy carriers for the scene
  • don't wait for the other person to finish, let the lines dove tail. don't give a pause
  • PRITHEE ((what??))
  • when a word ends with 'est' don't go out of your way to add a second syllable
  • when you have a word with 'ed' in prose you add a syllable, if theirs not an extra syllable I'll have an apostrophe. ((normally to emphasis a word))
  • metanym + physical object for an emotion.
Shakespeare:
  • got Anne Hathaway preggers - he left them
  • IS DEAD
  • not a demi god
  • just a guy
  • stratford SUCKS
  • not concerned with making art, but instead concerned with $$$$$$
  • suckish actor
  • beat bating sounds fun
  • London = buzzed
  • 3000 dirty stinky violent people who were stupid and couldn't read were packed into a small space to watch a play that they didn't understand. no frilly crap. improper.
  • modern English, less than 5% has changed.
  • wrote to the heart beat.
Uta Hogen((sp?)):
  • 1 of the 3 greats.
  • what your charioteer wants and how your going to get it
  • theater is 4000 years old ((plus some))
  • bastard art form. made of many things
  • from Wisconsin
  • shes pretty much the sh**.
  • hb studios, awesome
  • Respect for acting, a since for direction - go get these.
  • most of the time actors aren't acting ((boo :())
  • acting = piano. I like this.
  • basic object -entrance - dealing with object - exit
